Japanese traditional craftsmen

Traditional craft person

Traditional crafts, including Edo Kiriko, are primarily made by hand using highly advanced traditional techniques, which require many years of mastery.
Among the technicians engaged in the production of traditional crafts, those who possess advanced traditional skills and techniques are recognized as Japanese traditional craftsmen and are awarded the title.
As of March 2019, 21 people are certified as traditional Japanese craftsmen of Edo Kiriko.
