The warm sunlight of spring now beautifully enhances the transparency of our overlay glass. We hope you are all doing well.
For "Glass Studio Saiho," April is a special month, one of the most intense of the year. We have multiple opportunities to directly present the essence of Edo Kiriko to you, including the "Edo Kiriko New Works Exhibition," where our craftsmanship is put to the test, and events in Ginza celebrating the arrival of spring.
This time, along with the event schedule for April 2026, we will introduce news of awards that are the culmination of our artisans' passion, as well as masterpieces themed around "cherry blossoms" that can only be enjoyed at this time of year.

1. [Great Achievement] Edo Kiriko New Works Exhibition, 10 consecutive years at 1st place
First, we have wonderful news to report to you. At the recently held "Edo Kiriko New Works Exhibition," our studio's artisan received the top award. This marks a monumental achievement for Glass Studio Saiho, as it is our 10th consecutive year winning 1st place.
The works submitted to the Edo Kiriko New Works Exhibition are "masterpieces" into which artisans pour all their skills, unlike the everyday glasses you usually see. These are one-of-a-kind, large-scale works not featured on our website, truly reaching the realm of art.
This "1st place" title is not just an honor. It is also proof that the refined sensibility and precise finger skills used to create these supreme works are reflected in all of Saiho's products. All of us at the studio are redoubling our efforts in production.

2. April Event and Exhibition Schedule
This month, we have opportunities to meet you at two locations: Ginza and Sumida Ward. You can enjoy different charms of Saiho at each event.
■ April 3 (Fri) - April 5 (Sun): The 38th Edo Kiriko Sakura Festival (Ginza Tokyu Plaza)
We will participate in "Edo Kiriko Sakura Festival," Japan's largest Edo Kiriko festival. At this event, hosted by Fujimaki Department Store, the aforementioned award-winning works (including the top prize winner) from the "Edo Kiriko New Works Exhibition" will be gathered in one place.
This is a valuable opportunity to directly see "one-of-a-kind masterpieces" imbued with the artisans' spirit, which cannot be viewed on our website. Please experience the power of these works, filled with the "now" of the artisans, in the sophisticated atmosphere of Ginza.

■ April 18 (Sat) - April 19 (Sun): Sumida Ward Glass Market (participating as Edo Kiriko Cooperative Association)
We will also exhibit at the "Glass Market" held in our local Sumida Ward. This is a lively market, typical of an artisan town, where Saiho will offer "glass blanks" and "outlet items" perfect for everyday use at special prices. Please enjoy the fun of finding your own unique piece.

3. Traditional Beauty of "Fuji Sakura" and "Sakura Pattern" to Enjoy Spring
The techniques that led to our top award are also alive in our everyday tableware. We will introduce two of Saiho's proud designs most suitable for April.
Fuji Sakura (Cherry Blossom) Pattern
This is a very auspicious pattern that depicts "Mt. Fuji," a symbol of Japan, and "cherry blossoms" on a single glass. Delicate cherry blossom petals dancing are expressed through cuts within the sprawling form of Fuji's base. For new beginnings or as a gift wishing for longevity and prosperity for a loved one, nothing surpasses this.
◇Fuji Sakura Pattern Old Glass
Sakura (Cherry Blossom) Pattern
Saiho's Sakura pattern is characterized by a design that combines traditional techniques such as "Hakkakukagome" (octagonal basket weave) to evoke full-blooming cherry blossoms through light refraction. Each time you tilt the glass, it creates an illusion of petals dancing in your hand, boasting breathtaking beauty.

4. Saiho's Original Color "Blue Pink" embodies its Philosophy
Saiho has an original color, "Blue Pink," that no other company can imitate. This color embodies our strong aspirations.
While Edo Kiriko, requiring advanced techniques, is inherently expensive, for this color, we set prices through our unique production system based on the idea of "wanting to deliver the beauty of authentic Edo Kiriko to more people at a reduced price."
It is Saiho's representative and popular color, born from our wish to "enable people to casually give high-quality items as everyday gifts." We are currently experiencing high demand, resulting in low stock/out of stock, but our artisans are diligently remaking each piece with passion. We will announce restock information as it becomes available, so please look forward to it.
5. [Product Introduction] Bringing the highest level of craftsmanship to everyday moments
These glasses are crafted by the artisans of our studio, which has proudly won 1st place in the new works exhibition for 10 consecutive years, with the same passion as their one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Perfect as a spring gift adorned with a cherry blossom pattern.

Fuji Sakura Pattern Old Glass Pair (Blue/Red)
A perfect pair set for celebrations, crowned with Japan's majestic Mt. Fuji. The "tenbiraki" (wide-mouthed) shape also symbolizes "ever-increasing prosperity," making it ideal for gifts such as wedding celebrations or housewarming parties, marking life's milestones.

Sakura Pattern Tenkai Tumbler Blue Pink
Bringing Saiho's original "Blue Pink" closer to you. While maintaining a lower price, the precision of the cuts remains true to the award-winning artisan's dedication. It's a highly popular gift item.
